Everything you need to know about our grading services, submission process, and more.
Coin grading is the professional assessment of a coin's condition and authenticity. Our numismatists examine each coin against the internationally recognised Sheldon scale (1–70), evaluating wear, strike quality, surfaces, and originality. The grade assigned reflects the coin's state of preservation and helps establish its market value.
Professional grading provides authentication, protection, and often higher realised prices. It confirms your coin is genuine, documents its condition objectively, and encapsulates it to preserve that grade. Buyers and dealers trust third-party grades — graded coins typically sell for more than raw coins of similar quality.
Standard grading takes approximately 30 days from receipt. Our Priority service delivers results in about 14 days. Actual turnaround may vary slightly during busy periods — we'll keep you informed of any delays.
Submit photos of your coins via WhatsApp or email for a quick assessment. We'll confirm we can help and send you a submission form. Complete the form, then courier your coins to us. We'll confirm receipt and process your order according to your chosen service level.
While your coins are with us, yes. Every submission is logged and photographed on arrival and kept in our secure vault, and your items are covered by SANGS for the whole time they're in our care.
Courier transit is the exception — we don't insure coins while they're on the road, in either direction. If you'd like cover in transit, arrange it with your own insurer or directly with the courier before collection. For high-value submissions, speak to us first and we'll advise on the safest way to get them to us.
We use the Sheldon scale (1–70), the same industry standard used by NGC, PCGS, and other major grading services worldwide. This ensures compatibility and comparability with international markets.
